Looking at the video, the inventors of video games were always trying to find the perfect game to introduce to the public. From the Pong from  to King Kong from Nintendo, it was fast business. Some of them had to go to court because lawsuits were filed against them. They were told that they had used others ideas to make their own versions of someone else’s invention.

Even todays technology, with its vast inprovements we still see this trend within the invention of video games. There are many company names promoting video games and competing with one another. The business is making alot of money as it has alot of young people in their audience. I think that it will always be this way in the video games world!

As we know there are many young people that do have this kind of learning, there are many that don’t have access to a computer 24/7. These tend to come from poor families and those that respect their parents wishes that don’t want them to be in these social network sites. Still, the percentage of this group do have access to go online primarily from their school accounts as mentioned in the article.

Most young people that spend their time surfing the net and chatting with friends don’t realize that they are building their knowledge. My ten year old daughter for example, just a couple years ago opened an account on messenger. She only knew how to spell a few word English words, as she went to school in French. At the beginning she would ask me or someone else to spell out words for her as she chatted with friends. As the days went by, she began to ask for less help on how to spell words. Today, her English has improved alot, both written and oral. She rarely asks help anymore.

As it always is, when something good happens, in this case, learning as they log on to all these sites and chatting with friends, they have to be careful not to get in trouble. Their is alot of cyber bullying going on and someone can take advantage of them. We as parents should control which sites our children are looking at as well.

So, I just want to guide my children while they are on the internet and give them their privacy too when they are connected to their friends. I want them to learn new things as they explore the net. I wish that I had the same kind of connection with my friends and the internet access when I was young. I truly believe that the youth learn alot whether they are chatting and using the internet to study and to do research on many things….learning is at their fingertips!

I view media as a means of bringing people together. In the old days, it was through postal mail that kept us in touch with one another. Today, with the help of the computer, we can be connected instantly through the touch of a button. It is so useful that it we can chat with anyone in the world. Communication is must easier and faster than it was many years ago.

Also, i see media as a very essential tool when we want to learn about new things . There are a lot of ways that we can search for information. In written form was the most popular way back then. For example; dictionaries, encyclopedia, magazines and newspapers.The television and the computer are two of tools most used in today’s media.

Media through television is very powerful. What we see sometimes can be entertaining, informative and disturbing which can reflect in our actions. We tend to be drawn to it like a magnet. If used wisely, media can be very useful to bring information to us.

Everyone at our house loves the game of hockey. We like to watch the NHL on t.v. Whenever we go to Ottawa or Montreal, we go and watch a live game. Our favorite team is the Montreal Canadiens.
